PROFESSOR DR. NAHREEN I. KHAN

Dr. Nahreen I. Khan is a professor at Jahangirnagar University, geography department in Bangladesh. She is a human geographer with over 19 years of experience in research, teaching, and policy formulation in Bangladesh and Germany.
Dr. Khan earned her PhD in Geography of Service, Communication, and Knowledge Innovation from the University of Marburg, Germany. She holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Geography and Environment from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and an additional Master’s degree in Environmental Governance, Sustainability, Policy Analysis, and Environmental Conflict Management from the University of Freiburg, Germany. She also earned a Diploma in Gender Studies from the University of BOKU, Vienna, Austria. She also held an Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship to work as a visiting scientist at the University of Oldenburg in Germany.

Dr. Nahreen I. Khan is a professor at Jahangirnagar University, geography department in Bangladesh. She is a human geographer with over 19 years of experience in research, teaching, and policy formulation in Bangladesh and Germany. She possesses extensive expertise in development cooperation and multi-partite relationship management, focusing on collaborations among government, academia, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Her professional portfolio also includes substantial contributions to media, having worked as a program producer, presenter, and feature writer for various television and print platforms.

Dr. Khan earned her PhD in Geography of Service, Communication, and Knowledge Innovation from the University of Marburg, Germany. She holds a Bachelor and Master’s degree in Geography and Environment from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh, and an additional Master’s degree in Environmental Governance, Sustainability, Policy Analysis, and Environmental Conflict Management from the University of Freiburg, Germany. She also earned a Diploma in Gender Studies from the University of BOKU, Vienna, Austria. Dr. Khan’s interdisciplinary expertise and her leadership roles reflect her commitment to advancing sustainable development, conflict transformation, and global governance.
She is the co-director of CRRIC’s Peace in Myanmar project. She looks after CRRIC’s operation in the global South.
